Walking with the lions at Ukutula

Ukutula means place of quiet.

It is situated 1½ hours drive from Johannesburg and 1 hours drive from Pretoria

At Ukutula, you can interact and walk with the lions. There is also overnight accommodation in chalets at the game lodge. You can also do a morning or whole day excursion at Ukutula and interact with the lions.

Ukutula offers the following programs daily from Monday - Sunday.

Package 1: Lion interaction program

Departure time from Johannesburg is 08h30 for the 10h00 program and 12h30 for the 14h00 program. The program includes a guided tour to the Lion , Tiger, Cheetah, Caracal and Hyena enclosures and the interaction with the lion cubs.

Program is between 2-3 hours.

Cost is R2600 per person. min 2 people. 5-8 people R2100 per person.

Ukutula lodge walking with the lions 

Package 2: Guided Bush walk with the lions

Departure time from Johannesburg is 06h30 for the 08h00 program and 14h30 for the 16h00 program.

Duration of walk into the Bush veld is approximately 1-1½ hours during which you can observe the young lions in their natural environment.

Cost is R2400 per person. min 2 people. 5-8 people R2200 per person

Package 3: Day Package

Walking with the lion ukutula lodge 

Departure time from Johannesburg is 06h30 for the 08h00 program and 12h30 for the 14h00 program.

Duration of the program is between 3-4 hours

Interaction with the lion cubs, a guided bushwalk with the lions and a tour to the lion, tiger, cheetah, caracal and hyena enclosures.

Elephant Sanctuary and Ukutula Walking with the Lions

Here's an updated itinerary for a day trip to the Elephant Sanctuary in Hartbeespoort Dam and Ukutula Walking with Lions in Brits, with a 6:00 AM pick-up from your hotel in Johannesburg and the inclusion of transportation and tickets:

Day Trip:

8:00 AM: Arrive at the Elephant Sanctuary near Hartbeespoort Dam.

8:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Enjoy a guided tour of the sanctuary, interact with elephants, and learn about their behavior and conservation efforts. Ticket included.

10:30 AM: Depart from the Elephant Sanctuary.

11:00 AM: Arrive at a local restaurant for lunch (lunch is not included in the itinerary).

12:30 PM: Depart from the restaurant.

1:00 PM: Continue the journey to Ukutula Lion Park in Brits.

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Participate in the afternoon program at Ukutula, which may include walking with lions, learning about lion conservation, and observing other wildlife. Ticket included.

5:00 PM: Depart from Ukutula Lion Park

7:00 PM: Drop-off at your hotel in Johannesburg.
